The Gravity Change is a generic gimmick in the MaGMML series. It is a device that alters gravity to either high, low, or normal levels.

Gravity Changers were first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, but were completely unused in the final game.

Gravity Changers returned in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and were used in the entries Forgotten Fortress, Alien Temple, and Guts Man's Asteroid, as well as the secret level Twilight Lodge, the Tier X level Deep Thoughts, and the Pit of Pits sublevel "Hot Mess".

Behavior

When Mega Man touches a Gravity Change object, his gravity will change to match that object's gravMultiplier variable. There exist three versions; one that halves Mega Man's gravity giving him higher jumps (denoted by a "0.5" label), one that doubles it and makes his jumps lower (denoted by a "2.0" label), and one that restores it to normal (denoted by a "1.0" label). Though the gravMultiplier variable of each can be modified, they are intended to stay the same.

Trivia

  • The graphics and functionality of Gravity Changers are taken from the fangame Mega Man: Super Fighting Robot, which used them extensively in its fourth Wily stage.
