Spring Head is an enemy from Mega Man 2. It is a small robot built from Crazy Razy scraps.
Spring Head was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, where it appeared in the Wily stage Flashback Database. Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered removes it from that stage's redesign, while adding them to the remade iteration of Be the Bigger Person.
Spring Head returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entries Dragon Lab Lair, Candy Panic, Quint Stage, Just an Ice Level, and Sector Upsilon 6, as well as the Wily stage Inner Sanctum and the Pit of Pits sub-level "Ja" and "Labyrinthe Throwback". It also appeared in the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entries X Factory and Breaking Ground, plus the Wily stage Wily 3; it reappeared in the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 Judge Application Level Space Crusade, as well as the port of X Factory.
Contents
Behavior
Spring Heads will initially move forward slowly, turning around when they reach a ledge or wall. If Mega Man is on its Y plane, it will move at a different speed. If it makes contact with him, it will release its spring and flail its head back and forth before moving again.
By default, Spring Heads are blue, but by setting "col = 1" in a Spring Head's creation code, it will turn gray. Creation code can also be used to determine the Spring Head's normal speed (default is 0.25) and speed when on the same Y plane as Mega Man (default is 2).
