"A hammerheaded enemy that smacks the ground and sends debris flying up and down. The debris is also affected by gravity-affecting objects, such as water and 0.5 Grav switches."
―Note in Doncatch's code, Megamix Engine

Doncatch is an enemy from Mega Man V. It is a small robot with a hammer on its head.

Doncatch was first present in the Megamix Engine, and thus in the devkits for all games created with it. Its MaGMML debut was in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, which used it in the level Construction of Constructions. It went on to appear in the Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level entries A Waste of Space, Copper Cave, and Wily Station; and in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 in the entries Red Mountain and Somewhere Underground, and the NEO Pit of Pits sublevel "Escape the Slammer".

Behavior

Doncatch walks towards Mega Man until it gets within a certain distance. Once it does, it stops and strikes the ground with its hammer, scattering four rocks in an arc around it. If Mega Man is below them, he is at risk of the debris landing on him. The condition of the area's gravity also affects that of the rocks; if underwater, for instance, the rocks will have low gravity similar to Mega Man himself. Likewise, increased gravity makes the rocks fall faster.
