The Reflect Block is a gimmick original to the Make a Good Mega Man Level series. It is a thick and heavy metal block that no weapon can damage or pass through.
Reflect Blocks were first available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and were used in 18 stages, including the Pit of Pits sublevels "De", "Serpent's Curse", and "Wood you please be careful?". They were also used in the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entries Pollution Park and Flooded Temple, and the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 Judge Application level Space Crusade.
Behavior
Reflect Blocks are solid armoured blocks that completely reflect all of Mega Man's weapons. Shield piercing weapons such as the Laser Trident, penetrating weapons like the Thunder Beam, and even the Sakugarne are also absorbed, blocked, or otherwise nullified upon contact with a Reflect Block. This makes them an ideal method of protecting a target from being damaged via weapons that can pass through walls, forcing Mega Man to find a way around them.
Following the release of the Megamix Engine, in addition to having slightly altered sprites, Reflect Blocks are subject to gravity unless "grav = 0" is inserted into a Reflect Block's instance creation code.
Trivia
- If a Destroyable Block's weakness is set to -1 in its creation code, it will become a Reflect Block.
