The Salt Water (ソルトウォーター Soruto Wōtā) is Neptune's Special Weapon from Mega Man V. With it, Mega Man fires a large ball of water that travels forward in a small arc, and can be aimed up or down in addition to straight ahead. Upon landing on the floor or a wall, the ball makes a splash and splits into three smaller drops; the direction each drop goes depends on where the ball landed.
Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level
The Salt Water is one of the weapons included in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, voted in from a pool of the least-voted Multihit weapons from the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 weapon poll. Unlike in Mega Man V, the weapon and its smaller drops do not disappear upon contact with enemies, but instead go through them, inflicting multiple hits.
By default, it does two points of damage to enemies. Notably, Salt Water is effective on little to no fire-based enemies, bosses, and hazards (with the Rain Flush taking most of those attributes). Instead, it works well on bulky enemies and minibosses, doing three points of damage to Semi Bulky enemies, and four to Bulky enemies.

Trivia
- In Mega Man V, Mega Man uses a throwing sprite for the Salt Water instead of his usual shooting sprite. The shooting sprite was used to better reflect the weapon's official artwork (where Mega Man uses his buster) in the Megamix Engine.
- This change is not present in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level.
