―Toad Dummy, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3

The Toad Dummy is a recurring gimmick in the Make a Good Mega Man Level series. It is a straw Toad Man dummy often used as a punching bag or for target practice.

The Toad Dummy first appeared in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it hangs on the far right side of the Dojo as a simple training dummy. It returned to a greater degree in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, where several Toad Dummies (now covered in sharp blades) were featured as a gimmick in the level Mojo Dojo.

In Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, Toad Dummies appear as decoration in Tier 14, and another Toad Dummy appears in the Alter Playground, fulfilling its original role as target practice. By knocking down and speaking to the latter, Toad Dummies become hidden in each of the main fifteen tiers, beginning a sidequest that requires finding and destroying every single dummy. Another Toad Dummy will appear in the Victor Heights Trophy Room, and will give hints on each dummy's location when spoken to. After destroying all the dummies and speaking to the one in the Alter Playground, the Tron Bonne costume will be unlocked; completing the sidequest is also needed to earn the XXI - The World achievement.

Behavior

A Toad Dummy is immobile, and cannot harm Mega Man in any way. In MaGMML2, attacking the dummy will display Mega Man's current rate of damage per second. Reaching a score of 30 DPS or higher on the dummy is required to complete the Intense Training challenge. After taking a total of 1280 damage, the dummy will explode and drop a Yashichi.

In MaGMML: Episode Zero, Toad Dummies will inflict damage on Zero if he touches them, in a sharp contrast to their original appearance. Some of them hang in place from ceilings, but other dummies hang from rails and travel along them. A few Toad Dummies also drop down from above, akin to Crystal Generators. Unlike in MaGMML2, these Toad Dummies have infinite health, rendering them impossible to destroy.

Toad Dummies in MaGMML3 cannot inflict contact damage, and resume their role as punching bags for Special Weapons. Like MaGMML2, Toad Dummies can be destroyed (and must be as part of their sidequest), but their total HP is considerably lower than before. When destroyed, a hidden Toad Dummy will drop either a large bolt worth 100 bolts, or a plushie capsule, depending on the specific dummy. Other Toad Dummies will either drop only a small bolt or fall to the ground when destroyed.

Hidden Dummy Locations

Each hidden Toad Dummy has its own damage table, rendering each of them vulnerable to certain weapons. Some are immune to most weapons, necessitating the use of a specific weapon to destroy them.
