- "An Up'n'Down type enemy that parachutes down and explodes on death/contact."
- ―Note in Furaibon's code, Megamix Engine
Furaibon is an enemy from Mega Man 10. It is a pit-dwelling bomb robot that is equipped with a small parachute.
Furaibon was first made available with the Megamix Engine, and subsequently the devkits for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level.
Behavior
Furaibons are spawned from dedicated spawner objects, which create one when Mega Man moves close enough to them. Once spawned, Furaibons fly upwards until they're roughly level with Mega Man; at which point, they deploy their parachute and slowly fall back down, swinging from left to right all the while. If Mega Man shoots Furaibon directly, it will release a harmful explosion (as it will if it touches solid terrain), but he can also shoot the parachute to cause Furaibon to drop down immediately. If a Furaibon's parachute is deployed in Wind, Tengu Wind, Toad Rain, or a Sandstorm, it will be sent blowing in the same direction as the respective object.
Furaibon spawners have two creation code variables:
- col - Sets the colour of Furaibons made by the spawner (0 = purple (default), 1 = blue, 2 = red, 3 = yellow).
- spawnTimer - Sets the number of frames it takes for a Furaibon to spawn (by default, it takes 120 frames).
Notes
- As of the latest Megamix Engine version, an oversight results in rising Furaibons getting stuck beneath solids and not exploding on contact with them if Mega Man is above them while they're flying into a solid.
